Max loved to build very high. Today, he made a giant castle with red, blue, and yellow blocks.
He stood up and waved his hands. "Look, I am a big brother!" he shouted.
Papa and Maman did not look. They were busy whispering to baby Rosie in her small white crib.
Max dropped his arms and looked at his shoes. What could he do now?
Max wanted them to play with him. He picked up his favorite green dinosaur and walked quietly. Shh !
Maman whispered, "Rosie is sleeping."

Suddenly, Rosie opened her eyes and started to cry. Waaah ! Waaah !
Papa rocked her. Maman offered her a warm bottle. But baby Rosie kept crying louder and louder.
Max wanted to help. He brought his soft blue blanket and put it gently near her.
Rosie kicked her tiny feet and pushed it away. Sniff ! Max sighed. His idea did not work.
The loud cries filled the warm room. Max sat down in the corner and hugged his knees tightly.
He felt very small and very lonely. Oh... Would he ever feel important again?
Max wrinkled his nose very hard. He blew a big, funny breath.
Rosie stopped crying instantly. She stared at him with wide, curious eyes.

Max saw her looking. He jumped up and wiggled his ears. He pulled a silly face with his tongue out.
Rosie stared, quiet and happy. Max smiled. "Look, I am a big brother!" he thought.
Max did his funniest penguin dance. He waddled left and right. Wap-wap-wap !
Rosie let out a happy baby sound. Hihihi ! She was giggling!
She loved to watch him waddle!
Papa and Maman clapped their hands with big, warm smiles.
"You are amazing, Max!" Maman said. "You have a secret power. Only a big brother can make Rosie laugh like that!"
Max stepped closer to the crib and gently put his finger near her hand. Rosie reached out and squeezed it with her tiny fingers.
She was small, but her grip was strong. They were partners now.
Later, the house became quiet. Max snuggled deep into his cozy bed under his soft blue blanket.
"Look, I am a big brother!" Max whispered.

Lily sat in her cozy corner with her soft toy rabbit. Everyone looked only at the new baby now. Lily hid behind her soft rabbit.

Lily stumbled backward over a wooden block.

She waved her arms and made a silly face to stay on her feet. Suddenly, the crying stopped. Baby Charlie opened his eyes wide. What would he do next?
Lily had a wonderful idea. She puffed out her cheeks and wiggled her nose. Then, she gave Charlie a soft butterfly kiss with her eyelashes.

Now, it was bedtime. Lily snuggled deep into her warm blankets and let out a soft sigh with her bunny.
